A commission for Fearie. I couldn't resist, her character sounded so pretty!
Finished, colored picture on deviantart. And as usual I like the sketch better XD

Late Christmas cards

For my homies back in Hong Kong, who will unfortunately not receive these cards until they get back to school XD;

Season's Greetings!

So I got on the computer planning to shut it down for the night, but then I had the sudden urge to draw. XD It's actually been a long long time since I last did a full-blown digital piece. Anyway, that's why it is currently 5AM and I am falling asleep on my keyboard. Merry Christmas, everyone!

indigo child

Two days ago I was at Times Square in Hong Kong - there's this exhibition called "Indigo Child" being held there this month! It's by a local artist called Carrie Chau. Everything was set up so prettily and I thought it was great! Luckily I had my camera with me:
They added this beautiful arc thing with lanterns over the escalators.
And here's a short video of an interview with Carrie Chau. Look at how she holds her pen near the end!

me again

Another cartoon of myself, since I got a haircut. Also, the first one now reminds me of Dora the Explorer. XD

drip drip glub glub

I finished my first large piece for 'Growing up'! This'll be my final piece for this quarter. I'm hardly happy with it, but I don't have time to do a new piece. I'll do a better one next time! *determined arm pump!*
Here's one piece of the large painting the mural painting club has been working on for the past two months:
That's the section our group was working on! :D glub glub

Some good ol' cartoony illustration, yay! For the school newspaper, on an article on language differences in an international school.

wet hair

Acrylic painting for art class. Really don't like how it's turning out. I should really have used a reference, specially since I stupidly picked an angle I'm unfamilliar with XD;

Jessica finished

I like her original expression more. It somehow morphed into this on its own though. XD

Jessica

The topic I've chosen for my series of works in IB Art is 'Growing Up'. Here's the start of my first piece, just something sort of simple and figurative - my baby sister Jessica! She's 13 months old and growing every day; I thought she would be a perfect subject to start my project with.

sad

I feel sad today. It's just one of those days when I don't know what I'm doing in life anymore, things don't make sense, and I'm confused with where certain things stand in my life. blah.

Mr Pinguet

Drawing based on a photograph from The Sartorialist. It's a great source of inspiration for characters!

I like how everything except his face turned out.

ta-da!

I feel kind of crappy today... drawing just helps and relaxes me. Broke out a brand new brush pen today - feels great working with a fresh sharp tip again!

planet pimp

I love SOIL&"PIMP" SESSIONS. They are so deliciously chill and jazzy! <3 Felt compelled to draw a guy with a saxophone.

HOMERUN BOOGIE

Phew! It's over!

It was a pretty small event, but I had fun overall, and it was a first-time thing for me - from signing up for a table, to drawing my comic, to getting it printed and then trying to get people to buy it! XD; I only sold a few copies, but it was truly an awesome feeling whenever someone came over and looked at my stuff. 8D
Comic and badges! Here's a peek at the first page:Comics and collectibles from the other artists there:Yeah, again, it was a great experience. I wasn't satisfied with my comic in the end, but I'm glad I got it done and had something to sell at the event! 8D

Facebook graffiti: Pirate and Wing

This one is for Adi, a swashbuckling pirate of the high seas at heart.
For my friend Wing! Yes, that's her real name - isn't that awesome?

HomeRun Boogie is TOMORROW! So excited!

HR Boogie Preparations!

HomeRun Boogie is this Sunday!

Ohmanohman, I am so excited! I just received my event map and information, and the artist pass is sitting in my mailbox in Hong Kong probably right about now. Mweee. I'm at table 14 and I shall be selling badges and (hopefully!) a short comic.

Badges!
(the one at bottom right won't be at the event, I just wanted badges printed of that particular drawing of mine as well. 8D)Comic: "Go Fetch!"
B5 size, 4 pages in black and white. Inside text will be in Traditional Chinese.
I'm currently rushing to try to get this printed in time for Sunday, hopefully it can be done!

hands in the air!

Today is just one of those days where I feel obnoxiously happy for no particular reason. XD

Environment prelim. pieces

Our topic for art class was environment. Here are the preliminary, experimental type pieces I did. It feels really good to work with traditional!

Acrylic paint, on a piece of wood broken off a board. Ink wash on watercolor paper. And this last one is a more abstract experiment - sort of was influenced by Judy Watson, who I had to research for a presentation. This one was fun because I had no idea what I was doing and I didn't worry about anything. I just built the texture up with glue, paper and scraps underneath.

nature be loved

I bought this lovely planner today! - don't really need it, since the school gives us agendas for jotting down homework, but it was too pretty to resist! I love the old vintage scrapbook look. So I'm using the planner as a diary now, just writing over the calendars. Here's the designer's blog.
