A lot has happened in the past 3 weeks. I was in hospital for two weeks. Now, starting next week, I'm moving to Guangzhou and going to a new school.
I haven't touched art much for a while, so am trying to get my momentum back. I feel like I'm a stranger to my own sketchbook! I tried drawing a couple of days ago - 2 hours and many crumpled pages later, I think I am back on the path - but it will probably take me a few more days to really get stuck back into my art!
Well, enough talking. Here's some of that stuff I did at school before I got sick:
Observational study of a classmate. That's him twice from different angles. Kieran is such a great model~
Quick skeleton drawing. The speech bubble says "Hi guys!" My teacher didn't like it so he covered it up with a classmate's drawing!
More skelly stuff, with acrylics. Look at my signature! XD
I bought this lovely planner today! - don't really need it, since the school gives us agendas for jotting down homework, but it was too pretty to resist! I love the old vintage scrapbook look. So I'm using the planner as a diary now, just writing over the calendars. Here's the designer's blog.
In order to keep in touch with my Hong Kong buds, I have joined the evil ranks of Facebook. Toyed with the Graffiti app after coming home from school today.
Yesterday was my last day at school. I just sketched and painted my friends in art class. Kitty, Squish and Jordan, I'll miss you guys!
I never realized before, but Taloya is one of my only characters who really makes me happy. I feel that I have a very personal connection with her.
Hanai from Ookiku Furikabutte - I love him. Anyway, this was just a quick doodle experimenting with brushes in Photoshop.
Finally, here are three of my characters - there's Bean the hyksi (I forgot his buckteeth! How could I?) at the top, and below are a girl and boy I've drawn a couple of times, whom I still haven't named. XD
